What is Cellar Hut and how does it work?

Cellar Hut is an on – demand beverages delivery platform. We offer the fastest, most seamless way for consumers of legal drinking age to order for alcoholic and non – alcoholic beverages. Cellar Hut offers you on – demand delivery options (in 30 minutes) or to scheduled delivery for up to two weeks in advance.

How do I pay?

At checkout you will have the option of paying via VISA, MasterCard & American Express Credit / Cheque / Debit Cards. Our sites also accept Instant EFTs and Snapscan as payment options.

Where are you located?

We are primarily an on-demand beverage platform with a flagship liquor store in the Cape Town CBD. We also plan on opening other fulfilment centres in Cape Town and other major cities across South Africa.

Can we collect?

Unfortunately no collections are possible, if the transaction was fulfilled online.

Can we come in store to shop?

Yes, you are welcome to pop into our flagship store in the Cape Town CBD to purchase the beverages that you need.

How do I know my order has been received?

You will get an order confirmation once your order has been received. If you don’t receive an order confirmation email upon checkout. You can contact us on info@cellarhut.com

How do I pay?

Your safety is our priority. Please be assured that we are taking every measure to ensure that your Beverages reaches you in the safest and most hygienic way possible. Measures that we are taking include but are not limited to:

  • Strict hand washing and sanitising protocol for all warehouse staff
  • Wearing of protective clothing including latex gloves when handling and packing
  • How do I pay by card?

    During the secure checkout process, select Card as your payment option. You will then be able to enter your credit / Cheque/ Debit card details. This process is completely safe and secure. Our payment gateways use only the strictest forms of encryption and no card details are stored on our sites.

    How can I track my order?

    Upon payment, you will receive an order confirmation email. Once your order is dispatched from our fulfilment centre. Our fulfilment partners will make contact with you directly regarding the delivery. Our on – demand app is still been developed.

    Out of stock?

    With thousands of items to handle, we try to keep the most accurate records of our stock as possible. If we don’t have stock of one of your selections, we will contact you, and either offer you a full refund, or credit to use to purchase another one of our products!

    Stock returns?

    Not when:

    • The product was not to your liking. Or Product has been damaged or opened after delivery.

    Yes, when:

    • There was an error with your order & you find that you’ve received the wrong products. Products must still be sealed and not damage, and you must inform us within 30 minutes of delivery.

    Buying a gift for someone?

    On checkout, request that we wrap the gift for you.

    How much is the delivery fee?

    All orders less than ZAR 500 are charged a flat-fee delivery fee of R50. Delivery fees for all orders over ZAR 500 is FREE. . We are only delivering to the following areas: Cape Town Central, Bo-Kaap, De Waterkant, and Devil’s Peak, District Six, Foreshore, Gardens, Higgovale, Highlands Estate, Kloofnek, Oranjezicht, Roggebaai, Salt River, Schotschekloof, Tamboerskloof, University Estate, V&A Waterfront, Vredehoek, Walmer Estate, Woodstock, Zonnebloem and other surrounding areas. We shall be coming to a City / Town near you soon. 

    When are your trading hours?

    We are open 7 days a week and on every public holidays (except Good Friday & Christmas Day). So we deliver:

    • Mondays – Saturdays: 09H00 – 20H00.
    • Sundays: 11H00 – 18H00

    How do I cancel my order before it is dispatched?

    If you have not yet received an email notification that your order has been dispatched from our Fulfilment Centre. Contact us at support@cellarhut.com, so we can arrange for your order to be cancelled. You will be refunded in full.

    How do I cancel my order if it has been dispatched?

    Orders that have been dispatched are in the possession of our fulfilment partners. If you wish to cancel a dispatched order, it can be returned to the fulfilment Centre or for a set charge of R200. If you have already received the order, but wish to return it for whatever reason, there will is also a set charge of R200. Please read our returns and cancellations policy.

    What is your refund / return policy?

    Although we always strive to provide the perfect service, we understand that sometimes life happens. If we have provided you with products that are not identical to the ones you ordered, we will gladly exchange it or refund you for the relevant amount, provided the original order is returned to our fulfilment Centre. Please read our refund / return policy.

    How can I make a return?

    Contact us on support@cellarhut.com and we will organize for your order to be returned to the fulfilment Centre. Please note that any returns that is not at the fault of cellarhut.com will be done at a set fee of R200 before any refunds are done.

    Wrong delivery address / Change of delivery address?

    All deliveries are made to the address provided under Residential Address. If an order has been dispatched or delivered to such an address, but you intended to have it delivered to a different one, kindly contact us at info@cellarhut.com with the correct delivery address. We will re-deliver your order at a fee of R200.

    How do I send my order as a gift?

    Under Delivery Details, enter the recipient’s delivery details. Under Billing Address, enter your own details. Then, you have the option to select send as gift. Doing so will classify your order as a gift purchase.

    Where do you deliver?

    We currently deliver in Cape Town CBD and outlying surburbs including: Bo-Kaap, De Waterkant, Devil’s Peak, District Six, Foreshore, Gardens, Higgovale, Highlands Estate, Kloofnek, Oranjezicht, Roggebaai, Salt River, Schotschekloof, Tamboerskloof, University Estate, V&A Waterfront, Vredehoek, Walmer Estate, Woodstock, Zonnebloem and surrounds. Not to worry, we are constantly expanding our delivery ocations. We shall be in a City / Town near you soon.

    How far in advance can I schedule my order?

    You have the ability to schedule an order up to two weeks in advance. We also understand that sometimes life happens. You can reschedule the delivery for a new date and time, no problem.

    How long do deliveries take?

    Delivery times are subject to our delivery Partner Network, and other variables such as time of day, order volume, and traffic conditions. In most areas, deliveries take under an hour.

    I’ve placed my order – What next

    Once you have placed your order, you will be sent an order confirmation page that will include your order number as estimated arrival time. You will receive a push notification when the delivery partner marks your order as en route and when your order has arrived.

    Where can I have my alcohol delivered to?

    Deliveries must be made to a home or business address. We will not deliver to a PO Box or a public place of any sort including parks, beaches, schools, hospitals, campus buildings, or any restaurant or other facility with a liquor license. If you do schedule a delivery to a hotel, please schedule the order for a date and time where you will be physically present to accept and sign for it.

    Can you leave my order with my neighbour if I’m not home?

    Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee delivery to anyone other than the intended recipient. As this increases liability and risk that the order may be misplaced.

    Do I need to show proof of age when my order is been delivered?

    Yes, Our delivery partner have been trained to ask for a valid proof of age ID .Failure to provide a valid 21+ ID could prevent the order from been completed . Any deliveries returned to our fulfilment centres are subject to redelivery fee. So be sure to have your +21 ID at hand.

    How are orders packaged and delivered?

    Your orders often arrive in a Cellar Hut branded packaging if they can fit. They may also arrive in the retail partner’s branded bag or box.

    What if I am not at my delivery location when my order arrives?

    If our delivery partners cannot get in touch with you to finalize a delivery. You will receive a notification via email to contact the fulfilment centre. If you request to have the order redelivered, then please note that our fulfilment centres reserve the right to charge a discretionary redelivery / restocking fee to cover the cost of time, petrol, labour and any other incidentals .The order will be cancelled at the end of the day if we don’t hear from you.
